From the outset, Fluid worked closely with the owners to minimise waste, recycle materials where possible and reduce environmental impact while delivering a high-quality internal transformation.

The story behind the build

One third of landfill waste comes from construction and demolition, and nearly eighty percent of that material can be recycled. With this in mind, Fluid was delighted when the owners requested that as much existing material as possible be salvaged during demolition.

Rather than treating demolition as waste generation, the project prioritised careful removal and redistribution of materials, fittings and appliances so they could be reused by others. The home is now undergoing a major internal overhaul, normally a process that produces significant waste, but this project demonstrates how responsible choices can meaningfully reduce environmental impact without compromising quality or creativity.
